SAINT MARYS AIRPORT

The average Citizen of Camden County couldn’t care less about St. Marys Airport.
When asked (in non binding referendum) whether it should be moved they answered “we don’t care, as long as it doesn’t cost us any money.
Since the referendum the City Council has been spending money (quietly) to continue a feeling by some Councilpersons to move it.
In my opinion the people have spoken. No more tricks, leave the airport where it is. If the county wants to move it, and Sea Island Corp. wants to pay all the expenses, that suits me just fine.
If the airport stays where it is we have to find a better way of marketing the land (not needed for airport operation). The Council has to take back that responsibility. If necessary we could hire a consultant (paid for by results, not promises). Cecil Field did it, why can’t we.
Sandy Sez:
When elected County Commissioner District 4. I will fight against any allocation of County funds to be used to move St. Marys Airport.
Additionally, I will resist any use of JDA or PSA funds for the same purpose.
