THE DEATH OF IMPACT FEES

Posted on February 7, 2010 | Email This!

I have been lobbying for Impact Fees for 13 years.  What the Camden County Board of Commissioners is talking about rescinding is a poor excuse for what is really needed.

The concept of Impact Fees has been around for a while.  It basically moves the cost of  infrastructure from the current population to the future population.

The plan that Camden County is seeking to abandon is a vague shadow of the real thing.

Yet, it was better than nothing.

The Board of Commissioners has unfortunately followed the lead of the politicians. In Washington, “they have forgotten the people who sent them there”.  They have chosen  to care more about the developers than the people, (you and I) who elected them?

To keep what we have (such as it is) you must show up at the commission meeting on Feb. 16 and voice your opposition to the shelving of Impact Fees.
SANDY SEZ:

I want to thank members of the staff of the Board of Commissioners who helped me prepare this edition.

Comment; when I am reelected to the Commission I will put this matter at the top of my agenda.  I will fight to put a real set of Impact Fees in place.

PS I need help to implement the people’s agenda.  Please call me.  Thanks

Sandy Feller
